  Very modern looking airport with good facilities.Large airport.However not really set up for tourists and found experience regarding public transport ok at airport but got much worse at Sofia Bus Station and at Train Station.No signs in English but understandably in Bulgarian and no display or announcements even on airport buses thus a lot to do be more tourist friendly.

  Not an airport for babies. The airport has one bar at the entrance preparing sandwiches and frozen pizza, the same after the passing check-in. The check-in have no priority line, it’s totally manual with arrogant security guards looking at you like a terrorist. During the check-in they made me throw the water to prepare baby milk, because not in a baby bottle shape (in the label was written water for babies). Moreover, they made me put off my sleeping son from the sling (a piece of cloth) for a check, with the result of destroying his nap. Of course they sell water for babies inside the gate areas.

  At Sofia aeroport terminal 1, only 2 coffee bars and NON of them accept credit cards of any kind. However, some of people waiting for departure who brought cash, can get food and drinks, which make it impossible to be around here, since the smell of grilled cheese make you hungry. But you can't run away, its a very small terminal. For my opinion, it's unacceptable situation. People don't carry physical money as they did once. In addition, those who was visiting, got rid of love cal currency before airport. The final touch, there's no option to withdraw cash. Nowhere!

  just horrible. very unfriendly staff, no normal seats, no decent restaurant - the deli sandwhich bar in departure hall is a joke: bad quality combined with high prices and unprofessional staff. there is a nasty air blow in the halls, take warm clothes and protect your head

  Quite a small Airport. It would remind you of something you would expect from 1985 but I loved it. These days you get glitz and glam and the latest technology everywhere but this was the basics done really well. Nothing fancy but a clean and simple layout to the airport. I would have loved to have taken some photos for posterity. Anyway I hope to be back again as it is a great county.
