  A peaceful gem in a stunning town. Nestled in the quaint village surrounded by the Rodopi mountains, perfect getaway. Very nice hotel, good size rooms and helpful staff.

  This is a small traditional Bulgarian hotel with comfortable rooms and some great views of the mountains. The food is very good with lots of choice, though breakfasts are set simple meals. Very little (if any) English spoken by the staff and parking is on the street outside. Young ones should not be given free rein with the tv remote as the cable includes no less than five channels of no holds barred 24 hour "adult" entertainment! Less than 5 minutes walk to the town centre through the side streets downhill from the hotel and over the river and a 20 minute uphill morning walk into the mountains (take the small road on the right off the main road once around the corner from the edge of town) rewards you with beautiful wooded mountain views on the way to the ruins of Asens fortress and the restored church perched on a rocky peak. Highly recommended.

  Bathroom could be better. We are here during winter and there is no heating working in the room. The remote control for the a/c is dead and we had to use the one for the TV to turn the a/c on to heat the room up but it's still cold. Bathroom is super cold too. Room is clean and large enough. Quiet with small balcony. Restaurant is cosy with a fireplace, price on the menu is cheap for a hotel restaurant.
