  This is where Bulgaria's national hero and most notorious fighter for freedom from the Ottoman Yoke has been hanged 5 years before the gaining of limited independence from the Ottoman empire. Bulgaria is in deep need of such heroes now...

  The area looks terrible and if it's raining good luck finding cover, such a shame to have a memorial of Levski here.

  The monument isn't the most exiting one but it's in a visible, easy to get to place.

  we will have to learn that our most revered national hero deserves a bit more sacred place. One thing for this one - it stays there long time already

  Writing about this monument in the limited space of a Google review is and should be very hard for every Bulgarian. If you're visiting it's not worth going there just for the looks of it – you probably won't like it and certainly won't get it. Try reading a bit of history beforehand in order to appreciate the importance of the place. Even better, go with good a Bulgarian guide.
