::Basically the best museum for arts in Sofia. A mixture modern and old school architecture and expositions. Take your time to read the information provided in the sheets next to the exposition rooms to better understand what you can see.

::Great collection. But too hot on the 3rd floor

::Nice Museum but a bit more information and a more cohesive structure would be really nice. Currently I sometimes felt like the art works were randomly assembled in the gallery (except for the non-permanent exhibitions) Good to know: Thursdays it's less expensive! I only paid 0.50€ which is a really good price for a gallery

::Interesting Art and a good place to relax from the heat and chaos that can accumulate in central Sofia on a summer day. Equally good any time of the year too, and Thursdays offer reduced admission (only 2 BGL), although full priced admission (10 BGL) is a bargain!

::I should say I love going to museums as they are usually situated beautiful buildings and there is the feeling of space. The National gallery in Sofia is not an exception. It has a pretty comprehensive collection of Bulgarian paintings and sculptures from 19th century onwards (see pics for example) . When you go to the top floor there is a wing with modern art which we didn't get to see this time. Price for admission is 10lv (5 euro, 4GBP) which is pretty affordable. Would definitely return.
