::A very lovely church. It's small, but extremely rooted in history. A must visit when you come to Sofia. It's easily reached from Serdica metro station, which in turn is easily reached from the airport by metro. The church is quite hidden, surrounded by a big complex building which looks like a giant chocolate bar from the main road. Try to find the entry gate, you can see the church from outside the gate of chocolate-bar-shape building (Ministry of Education and Science). You can also go to Banya Bashi mosque on the north, cross the street from the underground tunnel.

::Another must see. One of the earliest Christian churches in the Balkins. Has been destroyed and rebuilt several times. Was turned into a mosque. Worth a few minutes. Definitely read the plaques for information or it isn't as meaningful. Walk around the exterior ruins.

::Things around Sophia are as old as you can imagine. This little church for instance. It is worth seeing. I haven't had the chance to go into it, but I recommend at least stopping by it. You won't regret it.

::A small, round church from the days of Constantine. There are frescos from different periods but only the later ones can be appreciated. No photography was permitted. The church is surrounded by large, administrative buildings. The Soviets were reluctant to destroy this ancient iconic church so they hid it.

::Small but remarkable! It is a beautiful temple, inside it is very small but causes contirion to the visitor. During our visit we bumped into a memorial service so we did not get to explore much. Inside the church there is a souvenir shop (!)
