Very different from your typical museum experience; you are encouraged to touch things! Had a blast opening cupboards, going through photographs and trying on some 80s coats. If you’re a nosey kind of person, you will love this! Takes around 1h30 to do the tour. We were there for nearly 2 hours (we didn’t skip any parts of the audio tour - which is full of interesting facts)

The Red Flat is undoubtedly the best place in Sofia to truly experience the Soviet era aesthetics and lifestyle. The guides are super friendly, helpful and provide you with fascinating facts (some of which not well known!) and all sorts of information to keep you intrigued throughout your journey within the flat. Totally recommended.

I was in Sofia for a day and had time for only one museum. I’m so glad I came to this one! Being able to touch and examine most things in the apartment feels like walking through time, and the headset-tour they have is entertaining. I learned so much I had to take notes! You won’t be disappointed.

Informative experience. We enjoyed having the freedom to interact with the artefacts and there was plenty to look at. The representative from 365 was very friendly and engaging. Would definitely recommend a visit to anyone interested in modern Bulgarian history.
