  20 01 2019 at 16:15h we shopped at Leksi at "Kapitan Raycho Nikolov" 56 in Plovdiv. At check-out in front of all other customers we got accused by a female cashier (who's name, for privacy reason, I will not write here), of having shopped at their Leksi shop last year, and taken the goods without paying. During the checkout the cashier called the security guard, in order to stop us from leaving the shop, right in front of all customers!! This security guard did not let us leave the shop and went back to the cashier to talk with her. While waiting at the door, my wife went back to the cashier and security guard , asking what was going on. She was told that last year we had been shopping and while paying by bankcard the transaction was refused , but we had taken the shopping’s and left the shop. While my wife replied that that is not possible, the cashier started to shout and said even that she recognizes us. When my wife asked when this had happened, the cashier again replied "last year" without any specific day or even month. Than the guard told us that if we want we can arrange it NOW, on the spot !! Arrange "what"???? - said my wife! - Paying the bill .......of shopping’s, which we never shopped !! This was where they made a mistake. I decided that it was about time to call for the manager of the shop. And so we got the manager (who's name for privacy reason I will not write here) who we had to instruct to handle this not in the shop, in font of all customers, but in her office. At the office of the manager, we asked what is going on and what proof they have of the accusation. The manager told us that they have picture of us. We asked her to show us the picture. The manager was scrolling and scrolling through her telephone. I several times asked her to call for the police and to report the matter, but she refused and told us to call the police ourselves. In the meantime this whole situation was so unreal and upsetting us, that I had trouble staying calm. Than my wife asked for the cashier to attend ,so the manager did call the cashier in. Than the cashier explained to be instructed by the management of the shop to look for English speaking people .....a tall guy and a shorter woman with brownish hair...??? So English speaking was their whole proof..... To us this seemed like a case of attempted assault- they did not expect my wife to be a Bulgarian ! For us this whole thing of fake accusing is to confuse the foreigners. The cashier calls the security guard and claims that you have been shopping sometimes before and paying with a bank card, but that the transaction has been refused, while you left the shop with the shopping’s. The security guard then proposes you to arrange it by paying the amount on the spot. In our case it was about 8 Leva , (so 4 euros), no money you would think, but of course something is very wrong here. There is no evidence at all for the accusation by the cashier of the shop, no photos, videos, receipt, data or anything else. If you are a foreigner visiting, not knowing the language well, you would better prefer pay immediately in order to get rid of the hassle. Especially because the cashier accuses you in front of all the customers at the counter. What’s 4 euros for the rich west Europeans! The security guard literally claimed that west European’s are the cause of all problems in Bulgaria.

  Intense. No parking place. Only 2 payout places was working.

  Good place. A lot of choice. Fresh fish and meat. Cooked meal if you want. Products of all around the world. This is the place where I like to do my shopping for the week.
