This is great! I've been on a walking tour before so I knew what to expect; the walk lasted around 2 hours and takes you across the city center, I can't remember the name of our guide but she spoke English and was very knowledgeable. There were other groups that started at the same time but the guide did the tour in other European languages. Make sure you wear sensible shoes and dress according to the weather as that could ruin your day. If you want to go inside any of the buildings you can do this after the tour. The guide also supplies you with a tour book and answers questions at the end. Although the tour is free, most people give a donation which I think is fair. There was no pressure on this though, the guide did not mention the donation at the end at all or even put down a hat or any other container! I was surprised by this, maybe our guide was extra polite but it was nice that money was not discussed.

Very nice and informative free tour. Great to get an overview of Sofia, the most important sights and the history of Bulgaria. They offer 3 tours a day. It's free but you can leave a tip for the guides. I strongly recommend them!

Great tour. Very friendly and entertaining. Gives you a quick and decent overview of the city centre and its history. Don't be cheap and leave a decent tip!

I recommend this tour to get a quick impression of the city with a bit of history and funny stories. The general walking tour is for free and you can just donate whatever you feel is appropriate. The day after we took the communist tour wich was really great. This took about 3 hrs but believe me, those hours go quickly. Martin was our guide and he not only told us about communism in general and in Sofia, but also some personal stories about his 2 grandfathers. It was well worth the price.

Great experience! Our guide Kathy was absolutely awesome. Her deep knowledge and passion for Sofia's history makes this tour unforgettable. We also got a lot of information and recommendations for things to do during our stay in Sofia. And you can pay as you wish or not to pay at all because it's free. But we paid and it was worth every BGN. THANK YOU KATHY!
